Narrated by Hudhaifa

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ الْأَعْمَشَ فَقَالَ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ سَمِعْتُ حُذَيْفَةَ يَقُولُ حَدَّثَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّ الْأَمَانَةَ نَزَلَتْ مِنْ السَّمَائِ فِي جَذْرِ قُلُوبِ الرِّجَالِ وَنَزَلَ الْقُرْآنُ فَقَرَئُوا الْقُرْآنَ وَعَلِمُوا مِنْ السُّنَّةِ

علی بن عبداللہ ، سفیان، اعمش، زید بن وہب، حضرت حذیفہ سے روایت کرتے ہیں انہوں نے بیان کیا کہ ہم سے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا کہ امانت آسمان سے لوگوں کے دلوں کی گہرائی میں نازل کی گئی، اور قرآن نازل ہوا چنانچہ لوگوں نے قرآن پڑھا اور سنت کا علم حاصل کیا۔

Narrated Hudhaifa: Allah's Apostle said to us, "Honesty descended from the Heavens and settled in the roots of the hearts of men (faithful believers), and then the Quran was revealed and the people read the Quran, (and learnt it from it) and also learnt it from the Sunna." Both Quran and Sunna strengthened their (the faithful believers') honesty. (See Hadith No. 208)
