حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ عَنْ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ أَنَّ رَجُلًا مَنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَخْبَرَهُ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّا لَا نَجِدُ الصَّيْحَانِيَّ وَلَا الْعِذْقَ بِجَمْعِ التَّمْرِ حَتَّی نَزِيدَهُمْ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِعْهُ بِالْوَرِقِ ثُمَّ اشْتَرِ بِهِ

قتیبہ بن سعید، ابوالاحوص، الاعمش حبیب بن ابی ثابت، ابوصالح نے ایک صحابی سے سنا اس نے کہا یا رسول! ہم لوگ (کھجور کی اقسام) صیحافی اور عذق کے عوض جس وقت تک کہ زیادہ نہ دیں۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے فرمایا کھجور کو پہلے چاندی کے بدلہ فروخت کرو پھر اس کے عوض صیحافی اور عذق (کھجور کی اقسام) خرید لے۔

It was narrated from Abu Saeed Al-Khudri that some dates from trees that were irrigated artificially were brought to the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم and the dates of the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم were dates from trees that were nourished by their roots. He said: “Where did you get these from?” They said: “We bought a a’of them for two a’s of our dates.” He said: “Do not do that, for this is not right. Rather sell your dates and but what you need of these.” (Sahih)
