أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أُمَيَّةُ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ عَنْ جَبَلَةَ بْنِ سُحَيْمٍ عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ نَهَی رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّی اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ الْحَنْتَمِ قُلْتُ مَا الْحَنْتَمُ قَالَ الْجَرُّ

علی بن حسین، امیة، شعبہ، جبلة بن سحیم، ابن عمر سے روایت ہے کہ رسول کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم نے منع فرمایا حنتم سے میں نے عرض کیا حنتم کیا ہے؟ انہوں نے فرمایا جر۔

It was narrated that Saeed bin Jubair said: “I was with Ibn ‘T mar when he was asked about Nabidh made in an earthenware jar. He said: ‘The Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم forbade it.’ I got upset when I heard that, so I went to Ibn ‘Abbas and said: ‘Ibn ‘Umar was asked about something, and I found it difficult.’ He said: ‘What was it?’ I said: ‘He was asked about Nabidh made in an earthenware jar.’ He said: ‘He spoke the truth; the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم forbade it.’ I said: ‘What is an earthenware jar?’ He said: ‘Anything that is made of clay.” (Sahih)
